What is ichthys?
ichthys is the, "ancient and classical Greek word for fish."  Symbolically it refers to an image consisting of two intersecting arcs resembling the profile of a fish.  The image is now known colloquially as the "Jesus fish," but in ancient times, ichthys was used to direct fellow Christians to secret gathering places during ancient times.  It is our prayer that this gathering of the community of Christ be, first of all, no secret and secondly, a joyous occasion celebrating God's very present hand moving on the City of Kannapolis.
